About Hagerstown Junior Rebels Football
Our Mission
The Hagerstown Junior Rebels Football Program is organized to further the competitive skills and the ideals of the game of Football; and to inspire youth to exhibit good sportsmanship, teamwork, high moral standards, and the importance of education.
Our mission is to provide a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants; help to build positive self-esteem for players; teach team participation and responsibility; teach participants to respect and honor opponents and all other participants (coaches, officials, parents); teach sportsmanship and fair play; teach football skills in an environment where players compete with other players of comparable age and weight; and teach all participants how to win, how to lose, and how to do both with dignity.
Our Programs
The Hagerstown Junior Rebels Football Program was formed in 2023 to provide contact football in a program that respects our philosophy. The Junior Rebels serves all youth between the ages of 4 and 14. There are five levels of play based on an age/weight formula to ensure that players compete against players of like size and age. The levels are flag, mini pony, pony, junior varsity, and varsity. We compete in the Mountain Valley Football League against 20 other independent clubs. Each club has geographical boundaries, which in most cases, are the same or like the local high school. The Junior Rebel football program is unique in its high number of participants and rules to ensure equitable playing time for all players. As a program, we pride ourselves on being the feeder program for the local high school (South Hagerstown High). Our members are very involved with the high school participating in pep rallies, elderly seating at high school events, concessions, and cleanup for all sports during the year.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. We offer a variety of opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved and make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
